About the job 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

Set-up IDT landscape for Aster retail business:  

•    Work with an existing project team to design and set-up the IDT systems and applications required for Aster retail

•    Define, deliver and subsequently manage the IT support organization/ecosystem required for Aster’s retail business 

 

Manage Retail Station Infrastructure Operations 

•    Site Availability & Resilience: Maintain network links, routers/switches, OPT (Outdoor Payment Terminals) peripherals, POS, tank gauge/forecourt controller connectivity, and price sign interfaces; plan maintenance windows that minimize retail downtime.

•    Payment & Security Posture: Ensure secure configurations, patching, and logging for retail endpoints; coordinate CCTV/ACS (Access Control System) health checks, UPS runtime tests, and incident handling in line with physical security procedures.  

•    Monitoring & Incident Response: Operate dashboards and alerts; run on call rotations; lead triage and RCA with vendors; publish incident reports and preventive actions. 

•    Change & Release Management: Govern infra changes (firmware, network, power) per ITIL; validate rollback plans; maintain as built documentation and CMDB. 
•    SLA/Vendor Management: Drive field support and third-party performance; review KPIs, spares/repair cycles, and warranty/RMA workflows. 

 

Manage Application Landscape (Retail Platforms) 

•    Operational Support: Manage with all related vendors to provide operational support for POS, OPT, loyalty, mobile, fleet, and bank/acquirer interfaces; own incident, service request, change request, and small project work against defined service levels  

•    Payment Integrity & Fraud Monitoring: Coordinate fraud investigations with issuers/acquirers; track loyalty points movement and fleet card accounting reconciliations; ensure reporting to business/authorities as required.  

•    Configuration & Deployment: Manage station rollouts (POS/OPT images, parameters), loyalty promotions, mobile app releases, and partner integrations; perform UAT and cutover. 

•    Data & Reconciliation: Support Business during month end processes for loyalty liability, fleet rebates, and bank settlement. 

•    Continuous Improvement: Work hand-in-hand with Aster’s fuel retail business to understand and capture business requests; propose enhancements, automation, and cost optimization; track benefits realization. 

•    Drive the retail IT strategy, proactively identifying and driving opportunities for strategic transformation across infrastructure and applications. 

•    Adhere to Singapore PDPA requirements for customer data handling; maintain PCI DSS aligned practices for card payments; ensure audit readiness (artifacts, evidence, traceability). 

•    Coordinate with IT Operations and related Business stakeholders; communicate planned works, outages, and impacts. 

•    Coach L1 field engineers; embed safety and service culture; contribute to knowledge base and SOPs. 

 

Job Requirement

 

Education & Experience 

•    Bachelor’s in computer science/information systems/engineering or equivalent. 
•    10+ years in retail technology operations (POS/OPT ecosystems, card acquiring interfaces, loyalty or fleet systems, and station networking), with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead role.  
•    Experience in fuels retail strongly preferred

 

Technical Skills 
•    Applications: POS & OPT operations, loyalty/mobile platforms, fleet card systems, CGI/Bank frontend processors.  
•    Infrastructure: Retail site networking (LAN/WAN, VPN), device hardening, endpoint patching, UPS/power basics, CCTV/ACS operations. 
•    Operations & Tooling: Monitoring/alerting, log analysis, SQL/reporting fundamentals, ITIL incident/change/problem management, CMDB documentation. 
•    Security & Compliance: Familiarity with PDPA (Singapore), PCI DSS concepts, vulnerability remediation, evidence collection for audits.

 

Soft Skills 
•    Strong ownership in 24×7 environments, clear communication with nontechnical stakeholders, structured RCA/problem solving, and vendor negotiation. 
•    Ability to prioritize during live incidents and to plan preventive improvements. 
•    Proven record as a business partner, able to understand and quickly translate business requirements into comprehensive IT plans that are in turn executed effectively 

 

Certifications (preferred) 
•    ITIL Foundation; CompTIA Network+ or equivalent; PCI DSS awareness training; relevant OEM certifications for POS or cloud/network credentials.
