About the Job 

Responsible for planning and executing critical rotating mechanical maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Provides frontline engineering support to sustain equipment reliability and availability, while assisting the Maintenance Team Lead to drive cost-effective solutions and continuous improvements. 

 

Job Description

  1. Ensure the integrity of stationary equipment and associated piping in petrochemical plant, through proper planning and executing inspection activities PEIM requirements. Ensure the compliance of statutory obligations set by MOM, Singapore.
  2. Perform root cause analysis, recommend inspection and testing technique to address corrosion mechanism and failure mode, and to further determine the optimum frequency of inspection and maintenance of statutory equipment.
  3. Manage a group of junior Inspection Engineers/Contract Inspectors with respect to PEIM process and competency in inspection engineering, provide guidance when required.
  4. Support the Production Unit under his/her care in ensuring the technical integrity of the assets and the achievement of pacesetting levels of maintained availability, reliability and facility utilisation.
  5. Work closely with the Capital Projects, Turnaround and other disciplines and follow the best practices in CAPEX/Growth project and turnaround maintenance, preparing work scopes in advance, optimise work scope and drive quality execution to help ensure the best overall plant utilisation.
  6. Provide advice on static equipment strategies and support the alignment, standardization and improvement for inspection practices, guidelines and policies.
  7. Responsible for developing and tracking of Key Performance of PEI related Indicators (KPIs) to measure/trend activities relating to site integrity performance.

 

Skills and Competence Requirements

  1. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with min. 10 years inspection engineering experience in oil refinery/ petrochemical industry, or Degree in Metallurgy/Materials science/Mechanical Engineering with min. 5 years inspection engineering experience in the oil refinery/ petrochemical industry.
  2. Certified API510, API570 inspector, other certificates such as API653, API580, ASNT Level II, AWS-CWI, or equivalent, will have advantage.
  3. Good understanding and familiar with safety practices involved in pressure equipment and piping inspection as well as NDT activities.
  4. Proving supervisory skills, communication skills and be able to work with people at different levels
  5. Sound knowledge of inspection, testing, materials & corrosion, well verse of international standards, practices.
  6. Strong sense of business mindset, strive the most cost & benefit solutions
