About the job

 

The role provides strategic HR leadership with a primary focus on Bukom and Jurong sites, while also overseeing and supporting HRBPs and specialists across the wider organisation, including in Jakarta. It is responsible for shaping and executing the people agenda across workforce planning, talent, and organisational development. The role also supports Aster’s Industrial Relations (IR) agenda by coordinating IR matters at the site level 

 

 

 

Job Description

 

Strategic HR Business Partnering 

  • Lead the people strategy for Bukom and Jurong, ensuring alignment with business and operational goals.
  • Drive integration and alignment across manufacturing sites.
  • Champion the talent agenda across technical and commercial populations:
    • Succession planning for leadership and critical roles.
    • Development of emerging leaders and graduate pipelines.
  • Coach and lead the broader HRBP team.
  • Support site leaders on organisation design, workforce planning, and change initiatives.
  • Represent HR in site leadership and cross-functional forums.
  • Partner with Centres of Expertise (COEs) to shape and implement integrated HR solutions across reward, talent, learning, and employee experience. 

Talent, Culture, and Capability Development 

  • Shape and embed a strong culture of performance, accountability, and engagement.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder for graduate and capability development programmes. 

Industrial Relations 

  • Accountable for ensuring alignment for IR matters at Bukom and Jurong.
  • Partner with line managers and HR colleagues to ensure consistent and fair application of IR practices.
  • Support compliance with internal IR standards and Singapore’s employment regulations.
  • Work in close partnership with the IR Lead & Senior GM, HR on broader IR matters, including union engagement and strategy. 

External Stakeholder Management 

  • Engage with external stakeholders including SNEF, NTUC, and MOM as needed.
  • Represent Aster in HR- or IR-related forums and external engagements relevant to site operations. 

 

Job Requirement 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Typically brings around 15 years of broad HR experience, including significant time in a senior business partnering capacity.
  • Background in unionised environments is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Singapore’s employment regulations and tripartite practices is important for navigating the local landscape.
  • Regional or cross-border exposure, particularly managing remote teams or shared services, is a strong asset. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing HR teams.
  • Strategic in mindset while comfortable driving hands-on execution when needed.
  • Skilled in influencing and building trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Adaptable and composed in fast-paced or complex settings, with a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach.
