About the Role
Curious about how businesses choose suppliers, negotiate agreements and turn market insights into practical decisions? Join Aster as a Graduate in the Supply Chain team and build a foundation for a career in procurement and commercial management.
The Aster Graduate Programme, ASPIRE, is a three-year programme that combines practical, hands-on experience, structured learning and mentorship opportunities. You will work alongside experienced Supply Chain professionals and colleagues across the business to understand how sourcing, contracts and supplier relationships support a complex and evolving energy and chemicals business.
Job Responsibilities
You will gain exposure to different areas of Supply Chain, which may include:
- Sourcing and Category Strategy: Help research supply markets, understand business needs and compare options for what we buy, how we buy it and which suppliers we work with.
- Tendering and Negotiation: Support tender preparation, analyse supplier proposals and learn how commercial negotiations balance cost, quality, delivery and risk.
- Market Intelligence: Explore supplier capabilities, pricing trends and market developments, turning your findings into insights that support sourcing decisions.
- Contract and Supplier Management: Learn how contracts are structured and managed, help track supplier performance and identify opportunities to improve service and cost efficiency.
- Responsible Procurement: Develop an understanding of procurement governance, ethical sourcing and Health, Safety, Security and Environment requirements, and apply these in your work.
- Data and Process Improvement: Use spend, contract and supplier data to identify trends, improve procurement processes and support better business decisions.
- Business Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders and gain exposure to collaboration across the Chandra Asri group’s Supply Chain organisation, sharing ideas and learning from different teams.
- Projects and Business Development: Support Supply Chain-led initiatives and, where opportunities arise, contribute research, analysis and project coordination for mergers and acquisitions and other business projects.
You will have opportunities to contribute ideas and take ownership of defined tasks and projects, with guidance as you build your confidence and capabilities.
